Playing, finding games, creating them, keeping a rating and entering tournaments — yes. There are PRO and MAX subscriptions that open the deeper analytics and some extras. The court you pay for at the venue.

That is the normal case and the app was built for it. Most games in the feed are posted by people short of one or two players. You join theirs, or post yours and let it fill.

It starts from your own guess at sign-up. After that the rating is recalculated after every game, adjusted for the level of everyone on court: beat stronger players and you gain more, lose to weaker ones and you drop further. The first matches move it faster so a newcomer reaches their real level sooner.

Next to the number you can see how many games stand behind it and whether it has been confirmed by play. A rating someone set for themselves and has not yet backed up is flagged as such and does not enter the city top list. That way the top of the table is people who actually played, not people who typed a seven at sign-up.

Only people you actually played with. Anonymously: you will not see who marked you, and your partner will not know you marked them.

The profile, the schedule and taking bookings are free. Some features can sit behind a subscription. Whatever you have agreed with a club stays between you and the club — we do not sit in the middle.

The profile works without one — half of all coaches hear about the app from their students. But without a linked account nobody can book a lesson with you, so linking is worth it.

Padel is a doubles racket sport played on a 20 × 10 metre enclosed court where the glass and mesh walls are part of play, using a solid stringless racket, an underarm serve and tennis scoring.

No. Pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with a perforated plastic ball and no walls. Paddle tennis is a different American game. Padel is the enclosed-court, glass-walled sport that originated in Mexico in 1969 and spread through Spain and Argentina.

Neither. The court is small, the serve is underarm and the racket is forgiving, so beginners can rally in their first session. Tennis experience helps slightly with timing and hurts slightly with technique — padel rewards placement over power.

Four. That is the main practical barrier to playing padel, and it is why apps that match players by level exist — most games are formed from people who did not previously know each other.

Trainers with grip and sports clothing. Rackets are rented at nearly every club and balls are usually included in the court fee. Wait until you have played several times before buying a racket.

Courts are typically booked in 60 or 90 minute slots. A full best-of-three-sets match takes roughly 90 minutes; a social session usually plays as many games as fit the booking.

Exactly like tennis: points run 15, 30, 40, game. Six games with a margin of two wins a set, and a tie-break is played at 6-6. Matches are best of three sets.

The serve must bounce in the diagonal service box first. After that it may touch the side or back wall and remain in play — but if it hits the metal mesh before bouncing on the floor, the serve is a fault.
